Booking a session
I currently am not booking anything until October. I shoot everyday except for Sundays. For location shots I shoot in the evening approximately 90 minutes before the sun goes down for the best lighting. Since moving to the Northwest I have found we often have overcast skies, which means we can shoot during the day on those days.
Session type
First you need to decide whether you would like location or studio shots. There are so many great locations in Washington and in Portland. You need to think about the type of location first, i.e. beach, forest with trails, running river, railroad, urban feel with old buildings, or barn. I can help you choose a location if you would like.
Studio shots are taken at my house. We can switch backdrops and props. I have white, black, and other modern backdrops that you can see when looking through my galleries. If you choose studio shots we can also take a few outside shots in my yard if we have time.
Clothing recommendations
Try to layer your clothing and bring accessories because they will add so much to your pictures. Try to bring hats, scarfs, ties, belts, shoes and blankets. Also if your child likes certain activities like guitar feel free to bring those as well. I have a few hats and other accessories too if you’d like to use mine.
